This Blossom Scrunchie is worked in two rows. The base row is crocheted with two strands of yarn. The second (leaf) row is crocheted with a single strand of yarn.
yarn under hair-tie towards you, yo, pull through two loops, continue sc around hair-tie. Leaf stitches: 2 hdc, 2 dc, 1 tr, 2dc, 2 hdc, 1 sl st, all in the same stitch.
SCRUNCHIE PATTERN:
Row 1: Slip knot, attach slip knot to hair tie with a ch 1, sc 45 times onto the hair-tie*, sl st into first sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, leaving 10 cm slack to weave in later, cut one of the strands of yarn.
Evenly spread out the stitches across the hair tie before starting to crochet the leaves. This helps to ensure the leaves are evenly spread out. Continue crocheting with a single strand.
Crochet first leaf into the same stitch [2 hdc, 2 dc, 1 tr, 2 dc, 2 hdc, sl st all in the same stitch], *sl st into next st, ch 1, crochet leaf [2 hdc, 2 dc, 1 tr, 2dc, 2 hdc, 1 sl st into same stitch], *Repeat until last st, sl st to join to base of first leaf by removing hook, inserting it from back to from through the base of the first leaf stitch, pulling the loop through, pull the working yarn through the loop, tighten and fasten off.
Weave in ends.
